MONTREAL, QUEBEC, May 06, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) — Dia Bras Exploration Inc. /quotes/comstock/11v!e:dib (CA:DIB 0.19, 0.00, 0.00%) (Dia Bras or the Company) is pleased to announce more results of drilling at its Bolivar Mine, which is being conducted in support of pilot-mining with the mineralized rock produced being shipped to the Company’s Malpaso Mill. Dia Bras intends to continue mining rock of 10-12% combined copper-zinc until the Company’s new mill at Bolivar is operational, at which time production will shift to a lower combined grade of copper-zinc. These new drill holes demonstrate Dia Bras’s continued ability to discover new areas of high-grade mineralization at the Bolivar Mine.

Guadalupe Area

The latest drill holes have penetrated mineralization similar to that of the Titanic, Selena, Rosario, etc. bodies that hosted high-grade mineralization and have provided a sustainable flow of production to the company. So far, Dia Bras has followed these trends of high-grade mineralization for over 400 m along general NNW-SSE trends (Fernandez and Breccia Linda trends). The Fernandez trend, when projected an additional 400 m to the SSE, encounters the Increible breccia pipe where the Corporation is initiating mining of copper-rich mineralization.

Surface drill hole DB10B320 intercepted 1.9 metres of high-grade zinc mineralization (see Table 1 below) that is similar to mineralization encountered in surface drill holes DB09B316 (6.7 m @ 1.5% Cu & 11.25% Zn; please see Dia Bras news release of March 2, 2010) and DB10B321 (assays pending). These intercepts are about 50 m SE of the present workings of the Guadalupe body (see attached Guadalupe long section http://www.diabras.com/en/newscenter/2010/Guadalupe_seccion_longitudinal.pdf ) and are probably related to the same mineralized trend. Development of this new zone is in progress.

The 400 m gap between the southeastern limit of the drilled portion of the Fernandez trend and the Increible breccia pipe is expected by Dia Bras’ geologists to host several more high-grade bodies of mineralization and is a prime target for exploration during 2010. The Quantec deep-sensing electrical survey planned for June-July will cover this highly-prospective area as part of the planned survey areas (please see Dia Bras news release of May 4, 2010).

San Angel Trend

Exploration and development drifting in the San Angel Trend area, combined with underground drilling, continues to discover areas of high-grade copper and zinc mineralization. Three underground drill holes (see Table 1 below) have penetrated high grades of copper and zinc immediately adjacent to the current operating drift (see attached San Angel long section http://www.diabras.com/en/newscenter/2010/San_Angel_Seccion.pdf). This mineralized zone contains higher grades of copper than the Guadalupe area, with grades as high as 28% copper as chalcopyrite.

Method of Analysis

Samples were prepared at the ALS Chemex lab facility in Chihuahua, Mexico, and analyzed by ICP and AA methods at their facilities in Vancouver, Canada. Diamond drill samples sent for analysis consisted of half NQ-size and BQ-size diamond core split on site, prepared by the ALS Chemex sample preparation laboratory in Chihuahua, Mexico, and assayed for Au by 50 g fire assay with AA finish, and for Ag by AA on 50 g split sample at the ALS Chemex North Vancouver Laboratory. Assays for Pb, Zn and Cu are processed by Induction Coupled Plasma (ICP) at ALS Chemex.

Quality Control

The quality assurance-quality control (QA-QC) of Dia Bras has been described in detail in both RPA’s NI 43-101 reports of December, 2006, at Cusi and October, 2005, for Bolivar.

The technical content of this news release has been approved by Thomas L. Robyn, Ph.D., CPG, RPG, a Director of Dia Bras, a Qualified Person as defined in NI 43-101.
