Oliver Kuhn, CEO of Quantec Geoscience, is a seasoned geophysicist with a B.Sc. from Western Ontario. His global career spans Calgary, Singapore, and Toronto. He joined Quantec in 2014, leading innovations in DCIP and MT surveys. A former CSEG President, he is deeply committed to advancing exploration geophysics.

John Stewart

Chief Financial Officer

John Stewart is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Quantec Geoscience, a leading provider of geophysical services. With a strong background in finance and accounting, His expertise contributes significantly to Quantec’s success in delivering advanced geophysical solutions to the exploration industry.

Mark Morrison

Operations Director

Mark Morrison has been our Director of Operations since 2009. Before taking on his current role five years ago, he was the General Manager of Quantec’s Chile operations, leading teams and managing projects nationwide. With over 15 years of experience at Quantec and a strong geophysics background, he plays a vital role in overseeing operations and driving the success of our geophysical projects. Mark holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Geophysics from the University of Western Ontario. Before moving into a corporate role, he worked in nearly every field position, from Research Field Assistant and Field Technician, to Geophysical Processor and Field Geophysicist. His firsthand experience with field operations gives him a deep understanding of Quantec’s operations and the ability to quickly troubleshoot the challenges that are a normal part of complex geophysical surveys. Mark is a great example of Quantec’s career development opportunities, having grown within the company from hands-on fieldwork to a key leadership role. His ability to connect both worlds—field and office—ensures smooth communication, efficient operations, and a strong team environment.

Rob Gordon

Sales & Marketing Manager

Robert Gordon is the Manager of Sales and Marketing at Quantec Geoscience, leading the company’s business development efforts. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario and holds an Honorary Fellow designation from Geoscientists Canada for his extensive volunteer work with the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO).

Roger Sharpe

Technical VP

Geophysicist | B.Sc. | P.Geo

Roger Sharpe is our Technical VP, a role he has held since 2011. He joined Quantec in 2006 and has been a key figure in advancing geophysical solutions through leadership and technical expertise. Roger has over four decades of experience spanning exploration, mining, environmental geophysics, and instrumentation development. His career has taken him across North and South America, working in diverse roles from geophysical fieldwork and crew leadership to senior corporate positions. Before becoming VP Technical, he served as Quantec’s General Manager in Reno and later as a Senior Interpretation Geophysicist in South America. With extensive expertise in subsurface imaging, he has contributed to groundbreaking advancements in the exploration of natural resources. Roger specializes in deploying cutting-edge technologies, to deliver high-resolution data for mining and geothermal projects. Roger’s passion for geophysics extends beyond his career—he has worked in Canada, the U.S., Mexico, Bolivia, and Chile and traveled extensively worldwide. An avid cyclist, he has logged over 75,000 km commuting in Denver, Reno, and Toronto, with a preference for recumbent bikes. In addition to his professional achievements, he enjoys family life with his wife, son, stepsons, and granddaughter.

Nigel Unger

Manager, South America

Nigel Unger, Vice President of South American Operations at Quantec Geoscience, has been with the company since 1999, managing geophysical surveys across South America. Since 2007, he has led Quantec’s Argentina office. Nigel earned a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Engineering Geology from the University of Natal, South Africa. With over 20 years of geological and geophysical experience in countries including Angola, South Africa, Brazil, Chile, Peru, and Argentina, he adeptly oversees all aspects of Quantec’s operations in Argentina.

Kevin Blackshaw

Business Development Director

Kevin Blackshaw, Director of Business Development at Quantec Geoscience, has been with the company since the late 1980s. He played a pivotal role in developing field operations procedures for TITAN technologies in the early 2000s and managed global field operations for TITAN and Spartan deployments. Kevin holds a Diploma in Geological Engineering from Cambrian College of Applied Arts and Technology in Sudbury, Ontario.

Maya Gomes

Human Resources Manager

Psychologist | MBA | CPHR

Maya Gomes is our HR Manager, with over 15 years of experience in People and Culture development. She joined Quantec in 2023 and has been instrumental in shaping the company’s HR strategies to support growth, engagement, and organizational success. With a B.Sc. in Psychology, an MBA in Human Resources, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Maya combines academic expertise with practical experience to drive workplace excellence. She is also a Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR). As an experienced HR Professional, Maya specializes in leadership and team development, talent acquisition strategies, and employee engagement. She is passionate about leading change, guiding career development, and implementing strategic HR initiatives that align with Quantec’s vision and values.

Juan Bascur

General Manager Chile

Juan Bascur is the General Manager for Chile and Leader of the South American Interpretation Group. An Electrical Engineer and Geophysicist with 20+ years in exploration geophysics, he specializes in electromagnetics and borehole technologies for mining, oil & gas, geothermal, groundwater, environmental, and engineering applications. He is deeply committed to teamwork, capacity building, continuous improvement, and geophysical innovation.

John Spezeski

General Manager Peru

John Spezeski, General Manager Peru, has 20 years of experience applying his diverse technical interests to the challenges presented in natural resource exploration. He strives to lead the Peruvian team by example in safety, quality, and efficiency. He holds a B. Sc. in Information Systems from the University of Arizona where his graduate studies were interrupted by the overwhelming desire to pull wire over hills.

Mehran Gharibi

Interpretation Manager

Geophysicist | Ph.D. | P.Geo

Mehran Gharibi brings over 35 years of combined academic and industry expertise to his role as our Manager of the Interpretation Group. Since joining Quantec in 2009 and stepping into his current leadership position in 2019, Mehran has been pivotal in advancing cutting-edge geophysical practices and fostering innovative technology development. He holds a B.Sc. in Nuclear Physics, an M.Sc. in Geophysics focused on Seismic Exploration, and aPh.D. in Geophysics with a specialization in Electromagnetics . His diverse educational background underlines his extensive experience across all geophysical exploration methods. Mehran is a member of several professional organizations, including PGO, APEGA, NAPEGA, SEG, and EAGE. His leadership and technical proficiency continue to drive Quantec’s mission to innovate and excel .
